２週間前、Moon Rider 7のfacebookページにメッセージが届きました。
送り主はイギリス在住のMoon Rider（車イスユーザー）。
東京の車イスアクセス情報の質問でした。
時々そういうメッセージは届くので、
分かる範囲で何度かメッセージのやり取りをしていたのですが
なんとこの方…
東京パラリンピック2020計画のために、
日本パラリンピック協会が日本に招待したVIP Moon Rider！
訪日を前に、車イスでのアクセス情報を調べていたら
Moon Rider 7のページを見つけたそう。
そんなスゴイことあるんですね！
わたしが普段感じている日本の改善点なども質問され、
答えていくうちに「日本で会いましょう！」ということになりました。
彼はこれまでもパラリンピック開催国と一緒に仕事をしていて、
来年のオリンピック・パラリンピック開催国であるブラジル（リオデジャネイロ）にも何度も招待されているそう。
東京の車イス生活で感じることや、東京パラリンピックに向けて課題になりそうなことなどをたくさん語り合いました。
ヨーロッパの旅行経験も豊富で、私たちが新婚旅行に行きたい国を決めたら
車イスで楽しめるようプランしてあげるね！と言われました。YAY!
印象的だった彼の言葉は、
「どの国が車イスでアクセスしやすいかを考えないで。
自分が行きたい！と思う国、それだけで決めたらいいんだ。
それが決まったあとに、じゃあ車イスで楽しむにはどんな方法があるか？
を考えるんだよ」
ついつい車イスで便利な国を選んでしまう私ですが、この純粋な気持ちって本当に大切だよなと改めて実感しました。
素敵な方々との出会いに感謝しつつ、来年の（？）新婚旅行も考え始めたいと思います(* ･ｖ･ *)
We got a message on Moon Rider 7 facebook page 2 weeks ago from a Moon Rider in UK.
He asked us about the wheelchair accessibility in Tokyo.
We sometimes receive this kind of messages from readers, so we replied him with much helpful information as we could.
After exchanging a few messages, he told us that he is invited by Japanese Paralympic Committee for planning Tokyo Paralympic 2020.
He is a VIP Moon Rider from UK!
It seems he found Moon Rider 7 page while researching the accessibility in Tokyo.
We can’t believe this!
He asked about my ideas of accessibility improvement in Japan etc.
Eventually we decided to meet up in Tokyo.
He has worked with the host countries of Paralympic game, and already been to Brazil (Rio de Janeiro）for several times where Olympic/Paralympic Games will be held in 2016.
We talked about life with wheelchair in Tokyo or issues Japan might face while Japan is preparing and hosting 2020 Paralympic Game and so on.
He is an expert of traveling Europe as well.
He said that he can help us plan our honeymoon once we decide the country we want to visit. YAY!
We were so impressed by his thinking.
“Don’t think which country is more wheelchair accessible.
Choose a country where you really want to go.
After you decide one, you can figure out how to get there and have much fun as possible. “
We always tend to select a country where is friendly for wheelchair.
By talking with him, we realized that we should go where we really want to go and find ways to overcome the obstacles in the process.
That is the most important thinking for traveling!
We met great people and really thank for this fateful opportunity.
We should start planning out honeymoon for next year too!
